Training for Schools

We know that when a child or young person has a strong support network around them, they are more equipped to manage their grief in a healthy way.

In response to this we have created two online training modules for Secondary and Primary school settings. The training is free for all schools in Oxfordshire. The training is available for those out of county for £45.

Included in the training:

  • How children grieve at different ages and stages of development
  • Common grief reactions you might expect to see
  • Suggestions on how you can help
  • Advice around policies and procedures to be prepared for any future bereavements within the school community.

The training is in the format of a pre-recorded video lasting around one hour. It can be accessed for 4 weeks after you receive it so that you can complete it at your own pace.

Training for Professionals

Social workers, School nurses, Counsellors, Youth Workers etc play a significant role in supporting children and young people through difficult times in their lives.  Bereavement is likely to be one of the most difficult experiences a child will have encountered in their life so far, and being able to help them within their existing support system can prove to have significant value.

We have created an online module for professionals who are working closely with children and young people that have been bereaved. The training is free for anyone supporting children and young people in Oxfordshire. The training is available for those out of county for £45.

Included in the training:

  • How children grieve at different ages and stages of development
  • Common grief reactions you might expect to see
  • Advice on what bereaved children and young people need
  • Suggestions on practical ways you can offer support

The training is in the format of a pre-recorded video lasting around one hour. It can be accessed for 4 weeks after you receive it so that you can complete it at your own pace.
