SeeSaw welcomes contact from professionals working with bereaved children or young people who would like to know more about how best to provide support. We regularly work with professionals from health, social care, child and adolescent mental health services, police officers, youth offending teams, and those working in children and young people’s services.
Some professionals will have received training in child bereavement but, for others, the first encounter with a bereaved child leaves them feeling anxious or unprepared. We are here to help – just call us.
SeeSaw can offer telephone consultations so you can talk through the issues facing the young person you are working with. We believe that the best person to work with a young person is the one who knows them best. This is why our support is always aimed at helping professionals feel confident in their work and to give ongoing opportunities to talk through concerns with someone who understands child bereavement.
If you feel you or staff in your organisation would benefit from training that addresses your needs in supporting bereaved young people, we can offer:
- training for groups in your workplace
- training in our North Oxford training room
Please contact us at email@example.com or call 01865 744 768 to discuss your needs. We work in partnership with all professional agencies and feel there is great benefit to be gained from relationship-building through training. Training will be delivered by members of our clinical team so you will get to meet the people you will speak with if you need additional support.
We do not take referrals directly from professionals as we believe it is really important for a family to make contact with us to ask for support at the time that is right for them. We are always ready to talk with you about suggesting to families that they get in touch with us to ensure their support needs fall within our remit.
If you are working with a family with complex needs, or those who may not feel able to pick up the phone due to language difficulties or learning disabilities, please do get in touch. We can work around these situations to enable appropriate support can be put in place.
